Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation and Treatment Planning

Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation and Treatment Planning

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation may be needed to diagnose emotional or behavioral disorders.

The initial comprehensive evaluation is an extensive meeting that usually lasts for an hour. During this meeting, your provider will go over your detailed history and conduct an assessment to get a clear picture of your current mental health and answer any questions you may have.

Your provider will also offer a personalized treatment plan that is specific to your individual need. We take a holistic and customized approach to treatment and seek ways to offer the most effective solutions. Additional assessments or diagnostic tests may be ordered as part of the treatment plan to identify other underlying healthcare conditions contributing to your mental health symptoms. We will work with you to establish long-term and short-term treatment goals for you and your loved ones.

Medication Management and Follow-up

Medication Management and Follow-up

Medication management involves the management of psychotropic medications used to treat a variety of mental health conditions. Medication management is not for every client. When psychotropic medication is indicated, the mental healthcare provider re-evaluates the patient during each visit to determine whether or not it is beneficial to continue the treatment regimen. Adjustments may be made to the plan of care to increase the rate of recovery and to enhance the quality of life. The ultimate goal is to find the right balance for the client.

The treatment plan may require follow-up appointments a few weeks after your initial evaluation. You may choose to schedule this appointment as an in-person, video, or phone visit. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. In the case of an emergency, please call 911 or the Spokane Regional Service Area Behavioral Health Crisis Hotline Number 1 (877) 266-1818

Genetic Testing- DNA Genetic Testing

Genetic Testing- DNA Genetic Testing

DNA genetic testing analyzes how your genes may affect your outcomes with medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric conditions. This provides your provider with information about which medications may require dose adjustments, may be less likely to work for you or may have an increased risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup.

Telepsychiatry

Telepsychiatry/Telehealth

Patients who choose telepsychiatry or Telehealth receive mental health care remotely via secured video conferencing. Like an in-person encounter, the healthcare provider can evaluate and care for the patient from a convenient location. Currently, all of our visits are done remotely; however, it is important to note that telehealth may not be the right choice for everyone. While it is convenient, some individuals may prefer in-person interaction. If telehealth is not right for you, please visit our clinic.

Medication Refill

Medication refills require at least 3 business days in advance of any expiring prescriptions and will be processed during our regular office hours. The office manager will assist you with refills. Please have the following information ready: pharmacy number, medication name, dosage, route of administration, and frequency.

Prior authorizations may be required by your health insurance plan for some medications. Please have your pharmacist contact us as soon as possible with any prior authorization requests so that our office will start the prior authorization process.

Be aware that it may take your insurance plan a few business days to decide on coverage. If you need a medication filled before receiving authorization, you may pay for the cost of the medication directly without going through your insurance plan. However, if you choose to pay for medication yourself, you will likely not be reimbursed by your insurance plan.

Note: Please do not send us any Protected Health Information (PHI), any clinical information, and treatment information, or any other transmission that may contain material protected and governed by the Health Insurance and Portability Act (HIPAA) through an unsecured email.
